About The Speaker

Patrick Bodenmann

Prof. Bodenmann completed an Internal Medicine specialization in Lausanne, and a Master of Science in Public Health in London. He has been in charge of the Vulnerable Populations Center (CPV) since 2000. The Center focuses on providing health care to the most vulnerable sectors of society in the fields of asylum, the prisons, and the emergency services. He performs his clinical activities within the Center, and has developed an undergraduate curriculum for 1st to 5th year students on the themes of determinants of health, deprivation, transcultural clinical competences; he actively participates in postgraduate trainings and continuing education dealing with these themes on local and national levels. He regularly contributes to Master theses FBM, thesis supervisions, and, as an expert assessor or a jury, to degree dissertations, Masters and PhDs. He is also Mentor for the M.E.T.I.S. group (Movement of Students Against Unequal Access to Health-Care) at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of Lausanne University. He represents the CHUV and the PMU in different national groups such as Swiss Hospitals for Equity, and the national platform managing the health of undocumented migrant patients.
